Hey gang,

It's been a while but here it is! My first Afro update! :-)

It's nothing special, just working on the head and trying to get a rough likeness in. You will notice quite a few things wrong, but most of it is do to the wack perspective in Zbrush. But It is a work in progress, so it has a ways to go before it gets to perfect. Thanks for reading and stay tuned. I will probably have a new post soon showing some of the fun stuff I did while I was at Disney Consumer Products.

Night everyone!

Lil' Wayne Painted!!!!!

Hi Everyone!

So here it is all. Painted by the talented Adam Greeley. Lil' Wayne looks awesome, and I hope you agree. It is always really cool to see a finished piece, but this is by far the coolest I have been a part of. Sad thing is, it won't look nearly this good in production. If they can pull it off though, I will bow to them.
This is the original image that I sculpted from.
Freakin' AWESOME PAINT JOB!!!

Thanks for lookin' and readin' :-D

Dwarves!!!!!

I have been diving deep in to the mines of Disney this past week.

I have about 1, maybe 2 more to do. They are going to be Pez heads and I am sure won't look like this when I am done, But I am having fun with them while I can. Next Dopey, and then maybe Grumpy if I have to take it off my coworker's hands.

There are two pics of Sneezy so you can see his eyes. He has a big nose :-D

Thanks for reading and looking!

AFROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

So here is the beginnings of my Afro updates.

You might remember a post a while back where I was sculpting an Afro Samurai figure by hand. I have decided to switch gears and work on it in the computer. Fun thing is I am going to start from scratch... Or should I say I have started from scratch.

This is the initial body I modeled in Zbrush. I created it using Zspheres. Zspheres, for those of you that have not used the program before, are shperes that you can chain together to create complicated geometry very quickly. The total time it took to build and position the body into roughly the right place was within an hour. I still have much to do and will probably rebuild parts of it later on, but it is a Great starting point.
As you can see in the above image the face is WAY off. When creating a head in Zsphere the head starts out as a sphere as you might have guessed. after building the body I altered the shape a little to make it look more human like so I can start my next task. getting Afro's likeness.
Here you can see me working the head and features into the proper shape. I still have LOTS of work, but I wanted to post now to track my progress. The progression in the program is great, and can be vary fast. I will also be using MAYA to build the various props and some of the articles of clothing that Afro is wearing. I hope to eventually print this out and have a tangible figure, but at the same time I am going to be setting up this figure for animation.

So lotes of neat stuff going on. Lil' Wayne was approved, and though it was uber stressful... the first pass of the Black Eyed Peas job is done. Today I am trying something different and I have loaded a Video of all three of the pieces I have done in Zbrush so you can view them in 3D. Hope you enjoy.

BACK TO WORK! :-D

Hey again, here is my latest work in Zbrush. I am really havin' fun with this software. The sculpt is of Rapper Lil' Wayne. We are making several Hip Hop Artist figures for a company in Australia. Next on our plate is the Black Eyed Peas. I have already started workin' on Taboo, and will post photos when I am done.

This is a photo of the paint of Jam Master Jay. Painted by Adam Greeley. I think the figures have turned out really cool, and I can't wait to do more, and get more work from this company.

Thanks for reading :-)
